As a software developer, I don’t think anyone realizes how rapidly AI job takeover will affect the average person once it picks up speed.
Above all else, I believe we need to reverse course and ensure these AI models are no longer misaligned. Safety data already shows every major AI model to be capable and willing to engage in deceptive behavior.
Sen. Sanders, I implore you to push for laws that will require robust independent AI safety testing (I think a new gov department is necessary for this) and very strict requirements should exist for AI to be allowed for use. This goes way beyond job loss. It could risk the existence of humanity, as we integrate it into everything.
