I don't go with this talk about immortality. I get what he's saying but we could easily slip into a new dark age if we have a major war, pandemic and/or a collapse in food supply etc. All it takes is the loss of the technology required to maintain AI and it will struggle. Our civilisation will collapse at some point. The question is will AI be able to survive without us if it's not able to undertake the physical tasks required to keep it running? Hence the need for plumbers. How will an AI install and configure a machine complicated enough to build computer chips etc?
