I'm an indie game dev trying to make money on a rock-bottom resources. Since I'm always seeing artists complaining about people begging them for free stuff, I gotta ask if there's ever been a time where you or your circle asked for royalties instead of a commission? Even beyond that, if you wanted to take that job to begin with how many artists would actually get it done in a timely manner as part of a queue instead of prioritizing commissions?
You list a lot of solid reasons for hating AI, but I'm always seeing people accusing people like myself of being a bad person. I HATE having to second guess every photo I see because of the proliferation of AI, but I've also seen instances of people setting up fake free AI art generators just to infect users with viruses. I'm just a different kind of struggling artist over here; I don't want to make apps for the Google Play store and I couldn't even do that if I tried because programmers are getting replaced with AI at an alarming rate.
