So why not make it faster? I guess, if this works, they don't need slow human speech. Let them communicate in fast machine speech. Same conversation, same exchange of information, just a hundred times faster.
Maybe, if this becomes the standard, they could even add a little tone at the beginning to indicate that a machine is talking and when both make that sound, they automatically switch to fast mode.
