Look up Will West, William West 1903 Leavenworth. Even the warden didn't beliveve the two prisoners were not the same guy. The system failed back then too, but it isn't AI that is the problem it is the astronomical odds that someone else has your face. BTW DNA and fingerprints are the obvious solutions.
