In France, we are working on self driving cabins on rails, the purpose is to propose an alternative to cars that would work like a common transportation system while offering the same confort and flexibility as cars, and proposing a safer and more economical system than what cars and other systems of people transportation can propose. I have been working on it during my master degree last year, and I noticed few days ago that the university of Nancy is working on a similar system since 2019 called the Urbanloop, more or less at the same time when I started to think about that system as well.
I have a hard time believing that Tesla's technology and model will be the correct thing to use in the future
