Just have students present a lecture on their writing/research without visual aids. Say that they can only use an outline to present on. (Yes, you could have chat gpt make the outline, but filling in the gaps with prose in front of the class will ensure that they understand the concepts and are more likely to commit information to memory. The best way to combat AI is to replace meaningless, busy work (shouldn’t be present anyways) with meaningful, engaging work. Students will likely appreciate the shift as well. Most negative feedback I receive as a professor revolves around content overload and trimming the fat so to speak.
