They all claim they're wiling to pay their way for electricity...but reality is very different. Here in Michigan, Consumers Energy was approved for the single largest rate hike in over 2 decades and is already working on doing it again next year. All for a technology that is already taking away jobs.
Another part of the problem is people not understanding the true capabilities of these AIs. Microsoft Copilot is integrated into the entire Office 365 suite. It can learn from every presentation, every document, every spreadsheet. The little content generators and AI assistants people think of are parlor tricks compared to the full power of these models. The fact these companies are pushing for no oversight or regulation for a decade plus should be an enormous red flag to everyone.
