I appreciate the meta recognition about how this topic is discussed at the beginning of the video as well as the concrete example of how human made and AI art is mixed on some platforms, but the meat of the video, the middle of it, didn't go into the ethical side enough for me. That intro made me expect a more ethical focused analysis, but it was mostly a discussion of your thoughts and opinions concerning the topic. I hope to see more concrete arguments in the videos to come that can stand up on moral standpoints and why these standpoints are and should be ethically good. The one argument that you steered upon at the end of your thoughts concerning the ethical discussion isn't particularly strong in my opinion. It seems to consist of simpler arguments like: "AI artist can only exist because of human artists", "AI artist can be better than any human artist could be" and "AI artist and the people who make them disregard the interests of human artist". To me, these sound more like statements, describing discontent with the situation rather than arguments why the technology and its application is inherently bad. Tell us why. In my opinion, all these three statements seem to come from entitlement. A defensiveness that is required in an environment where art isn't always compensated for. Valid to ask for compensation, but trying to justify it as moral is a step further. I am not convinced that it is immoral what AI is doing right now, but I am open to be shown otherwise. It seems like a big paradigm shift. A quiet contract broken. Artists put their Art on the internet to gain publicity, interest, and thus potential positions and commissions. Others might look at it and learn a thing or two, but that was a necessary aspect, and copying someone's art style wasn't the best business model anyway. But now there's a technology that has gone through everyone's published art. Seen everything that is out there. From everyone living or dead. And can generate something similar from nothing but noise. And it has the audacity, to not even charge for it ...
