Love that you're calling this guy out and acknowledging the problems with AI art, but since you can see the issues with it I really wish you wouldn't use it. Even just for shits and giggles, these companies have stolen from artists the world over to get the data they need to make their plagiarism machine work, I don't see any justification for using it. I will concede that as you say at 5:28, I don't theoretically have a problem with people doing it on their own. But we're in such a tricky time for artists that just messing around with it will make it 'normal' for people to use. It'll become more and more common until people are desensitised to it and then people won't question it when it starts popping up in video games or movies or music videos or on playing cards or in comics, etc. I currently do have a problem with people using it at all at this time for that reason. But, if we skip forward a couple years and reach a hypothetical point where it has been deemed without a shadow of a doubt that AI is uncopyrightable, that the data was gathered illegally and can't be used for anything commercial, and it's completely unviable to be used in such a way that people could lose their livelihoods - then by all means use it for as many shitposts as you want. Until then, I think the most responsible thing people can do is just not use it at all and call it out for the theft that it is, like you do at 6:33.
