As far as I'm aware, all the drone models currently armed with weapons all still have human pilots connected via satellite link. What they are talking about is that down the road not too long from now that will change to fully autonomous drones, but I think they misunderstand how that tech will work.
Even when the weaponized drones all go fully autonomous with their flying, they will still be given orders of what to hit via GPS coordinates, and when to hit it from military people via satellite.
