Just a quick correction on photography (sorry if you address this later I haven't finished the video) but photography at first was considered a science not an artform, and it stayed that way until the impressionists, people who grew up with photography for the first time and actually began to incorporate it into their work instead of being afraid. The artist fearing photography thing also assumes that artists at the time were trying to do a 1:1 replica of life when (with exceptions!) this wasn't the case. Even with the ability to photoshop images all the way back then, painting still could embellish, alter and made all sorts of crazy stuff on canvas that you couldn't do with photography! Pros who painting portraits at the time were affected yes, but interestingly they weren't considered "artists" but craftsmen since even back then, art was considered art only by the level of headache inducing interpretations you can put in it. I am a bit too young to know of the shift of digital art and if people were actually scared or not so I won't speak much about that.
I will say though that what I think really separates AI art from the rest of the technological advancements is that it is interesting. A world where you can capture images how you see it? A world where you have more new techniques and colors at your disposal, making art cheaper but no less creative and unique for aspiring professional artists? A world where the pictures can move? These are all drastically different ways to create and express and most importantly makes art more interesting to look at! AI literally cannot contribute in such a revolutionary way as the prior examples. It can't be creative if it makes art that looks the exact same as hundreds of others but with the additions of strange artifacts. All it can create is the same as dozens of others before it. AI art is literally just not interesting. It's almost exhausting seeing it shoved in my face constantly, and I honestly feel like that fatigue is a trend I am slowly seeing more and more of, to the point that I really do wonder about AI art's viability beyond a bit of boring big corporate ads/logos.
