I would predict that middle managers are the first to go, not juniors. Algorithmic management (uberization) already showed its efficiency in managing large number of workers. And recent post-chatGPT time would improve that AM dramatically. So, board would decide to cut the most expensive managers and with the help of AM would squeeze more performance from their low level workers.
