I recently saw a form of robot printer that trundles along the floor and prints out a floorpan to locate services, fixtures, appliances. It showed where walls were placed, where to situate doorways, and the like. It is only, I believe, a matter of time before other robots become cheap enough and building methods are modified to allow not only this type of service but also the devices that will perform all the tasks needed to "populate" the layout. In other words, robots will be able to do the work now done by human tradespeople. It is not if this will happen but when.
