I always laugh at those scared of technology. Technology has only ever improved with time. And we have only ever seen the population go up. During that time people have always screamed the technology will be our ruin, and instead quality of life has only ever improved. The only way you are watching this video or seeing this comment? Technology! The “computer” got its name because it in fact replaced a job - “computer” use to be a human job that no longer exists. This is bad right!? Well the computer created FAR more jobs than it replaced. Also those jobs in general led to a greater quality of life for almost everyone in first world countries. Airplanes only get more and more automated and yet the only get safer. Far safer than ground travel controlled by humans. I do believe automation of driving in the long term will be considerably safer. 0 fatalities? A pipe dream indeed. But less fatalities? I believe almost certainly. Other forms of technology have also indeed replaced jobs but they only ever have increased net jobs because they still create more than they replace. The new jobs do require more technical/technological skills though that is true. Still more people are employed today than 20 years ago - as technology increased. And more people were employed 20 years ago than 40, more people 40 years ago than 60, etc. We have very little reason to fear technology it has only ever improved our lives - even as people have screamed for over 100 years now that it wouldn’t!
