As a Tesla owner with a bit of experience, save Tesla self-driving is at least a decade away. Absolute minimum. The "Auto pilot" is like a moronic grandmother with vision problems. It panic-breaks every time I drive into certain tunnels, it veers from left to right when there is a merging lane to my right. In certain sunlight conditions it panic breaks for no discernable reason at all.
I love my Tesla, but "auto pilot" and "self-driving" no, not even close.
Now, I live in Norway. Norway has the highest rate of Teslas anywhere. In Norway, Teslas are 64% more likely to be in a car crash than any other electrical vehicle. It is no such a problem that it is seriously going to impact Tesla insurance prices going forward. Which might make me change from my beloved Tesla to something else.
