I'm trained as a Biologist. Hearing these AI experts talk about it replacing humans, I always get the idea that they don't quite understand. AI will never be human. Humans that keep having children will be the humans of tomorrow, whatever that looks like. If modern society excludes people, then the people continuing life outside of that will be the what human society looks like in the future, whatever technology level and civilization complexity that may be. Also, keep in mind that people did pretty well for a very long time with no modern technology.
