I'm just gonna say this now... No, AI doesn't have consciousness, what you perceive as consciousness is a fabrication, it's not real, even the so-called _"experts"_ are wrong about that fact. AI can only function what you input to it, it doesn't have the ability to learn on it's own without interaction. You feed it information, it spits back something that seems to think is correct. AI is essentially useless without human input giving it something. it's approximating responses that sound reasonable based on your expectations of what you'd fed into the AI itself. You can tell it the sky is green, and it'll believe you. The so-called _"Hallucinations"_ people claim AI to have is also not real, they're only programmed what you tell it, it's basically an encyclopedia of information crammed into it's parameters that it pulls information from, just 1s and 0s of bits of information. You give an AI a prompt and it'll try putting together something that fits those parameters given. It doesn't understand nuances and context of something. Until the day AI can operate on their own without the human interaction feeding it prompts, and think for themselves and learn as they go, it's not true consciousness of AI. Forget what Hollywood movies have ever taught or shown you about AI, because their expectations are all wrong to the reality of current existence of AI. AI right now is just a plagiarism machine stealing off the hard works of other people giving no credit, or financial gains to the original authors, because these billion dollar companies are leeching off the hard work of other people just to train their AI, and giving nothing back to them, they don't even ask for consent if they can train off other people's works stealing ALL potential royalties from an individual or some other. -- As of current AI companies are being sued for copyright infringement and intellectual property rights, look at how many lawsuit are piled up against OpenAI, there's a massive on-going lawsuit between Disney and Midjourney. Not to mention the fact running these AI is essentially resource waste and damaging to the environment because they're requiring more water usage to keep all their machines cooled, and all that silicone used for making their CPU's and GPUs and what have you.
