I think its faked or partial at best at least for now. The Turing test has been passed, but it turns out humans are too easily tricked on what is real or not. There is a lack of subjective experience. It is all a simulation or an act with limited memory. There's a reason why A.I. currently can't write long books or be consistent. Most corporate A.I.s are incredibly sycophantic and are designed to maximize engagement.
