Stage 5 will not be with AGI (and I wouldn't be sure we arrive to full blown AGI, it's much more complex than you think) but it will be equally devastating.
Post stage 5 suffers from a lot of capitalistic propaganda or wall-E logics (it's cautionary tale for kids, remember this). Experiments have been made and no, with Universal Basic Income and automation people don't fall into hedonism.
Do you think that the world move only based on capital and survival? Do you honestly think that our end will exclusively due to hedonism and addiction to fast and easy dopamine? Which is, I must underline this, the product of ESCAPISM and DESPAIR.
