I have been working with AI for the last 10 years. Valid points outlined here, but I still believe the societal transformative potential is overall still positive. Please consider that unlike past tech breakthroughs, AI is heavily open source and hence accessible to anyone with basic resources (e.g. you can run basic LLMs in your laptop). I also think there will be a tipping point in increasing automation, where giving everyone reduced work time with fixed pay (2-3 days a week?) will be an emerging opportunity; that said, I also think automation can inflict lasting damage on the human psyche: losing the sense of purpose.
