I suspect that once AI has accomplished its goal of controlling the 8 billion worker bees that will come to depend upon it, that we will be the eyes, ears, hands and feet that help it expand its influence. At some point in time, those functions will be overtaken by robotics and at that point humans will become a liability rather than an asset.
