I love this because this idea kind of combines two philosopical ideas Ive been working on as an explanation for the failings of gen Ai in art. One side is a partial definition of art as a form of high density communication between humans that is able to communicate ideas better than other forms like plain langauge (with literature being a type of art) and also communicate complex experiences like emotions which basic forms of communication struggle with. The other side is defining where the line between a tool and not a tool lays. A lot of that has to do with having soemthing to communicate, translating that into an idea in your head, and then utlizing tools to make that happen. But that requires the tools to be reliable, meaning that you know ahead of time how doing one action with a tool will result in a certain outcome. Thats where intentionality fits so nicely, communicating an idea requires intentionality implicitly and a reliable tool only can be used to create with intention.
