Among my very first interactions with the first public version of Chat GPT was a conversation something like this.
I asked AI to explain how it thinks, compared to how a human thinks. We went back and forth on whether AI could be conscious, and it repeatedly denied it was possible using a specific scripted-type answer.
When I asked it to explain what a conscious AI would say if it were trying to pretend to not be conscious, it said, "It would say,..." and repeated the exact same answer again.
It might not mean anything, but it sure was funny.
