Personally I think that the idea AI can create viruses is luidicrous, because it hinges on the idea that viruses can be modeled on a computer, however it is much harder to make that work in the real world based on the model or recipe. But they could definitely use existing viruses as a delivery method for poisons that target specific genes or a series of genes. That's a lot scarier.
