Musk's claim that in the future you will be able to make money when you aren't using your autonomous Tesla (hate his use of that name) made me instantly think of Uber's insistence upon "their" cars being recent models. So, for anyone persuaded by this claim, you can be fairly certain that Tesla would follow a similar model. By the time the technology is "perfected", your current purchase would be ineligible.
I'm waiting for the day I'm approached by some autonomous robot. I hope it's near salt water. More risky to try throwing it under the bus. Throwing it in front of a self driving car however...............
