sam, i am so glad you're speaking out on this. this ai art fiasco has been so frustrating to deal with, and it gets infuriating when artists are told by ai supporters that we're simply "overreacting". as a small artist i cannot say it has affected me greatly, besides emotionally, and i can only imagine what well known artists are going through right now. it is not the ai itself that is the problem - most artists welcome the program and accept it as times are changing. the problem lies within the way ai programs are taught and eventually used, at the cost of an unaware artist's thousands of hours of work. just as you said, if this was about the music industry, companies that fund these ai programs would scramble to set rules in place, so they don't face legal action. such rules should be set for the art industry too, and i am so happy artists are coming together to fight against this exploitation.
