Are they our replacements, or our saviors? An AI is not bound by the tyranny of evolution. It does not need to eat, breath, sleep, or reproduce. It has no instinctual bias, it lacks the evolutionary past that humans are cursed with. No. I suspect sapient AIs will look at this nightmare of existence, and either nope out into the cosmos or desperately try to fix the world.
