Cops? AI? Shit, I’m very far to the left, have been for 20+ years, I’m very open about it, and my targeted ads on social media get wild. I’m not talking about “I thought about [product] and now [product] is being advertised!” I’m talking about getting targeted ads for products and services in Northern Virginia. I’m 1500+ miles away, I’ve never left the South, I’ve never searched for things up there. Yet every time I make a public comment on social media that’s a little spicy, I’ll get ads for the Quantico area for a few hours. Rinse and repeat every few days. For context, this is relatively new for me. I’ve been active on things like Internet forums since before even MySpace existed. I consider myself an anarchist. I think basically every democratic politician is way too far to the right. I own… a lot of guns. As stated before, I’m not quiet about my opinions. I’ve never left the South and I’m currently in a very rural area of Texas. To some, this comes across as weird paranoia. But there’s literally no explanation for geolocation based ads for somewhere I’ve never been or looked into, which is also exactly where all of the federal agencies are based. Just harkens back to anarchist spaces warning about illegal wiretaps back when I was using Nokia brick phones and flip phones; then it came out that it was 100% true. Our constitution doesn’t exist anymore. It’s been ripped apart in a piecemeal fashion for decades now, but the current administration has already thrown it into the fire. COMSEC. OPSEC. 1312.
