As an artist I love AI, I cant afford to pay an fine artist the hundreds they want for a single pic and also when I need an album cover I sometimes can't wait weeks for it. I would rather pay a real artist but they charge too much. my albums sell for $5 nzd each because I would rather people buy than pirate however I also think if I write something good enough for someone to pirate or other wise appropriate I have done my job and made worth while art after all imitation is the highest form of flattery. And hell art takes time, my last album uses 8 instruments all of what I had to play and record myself and it took 2 years from writing to release but it's not what my art is worth to me , it's what it's worth in the mind of others that determines the cost a thus artists generally overcharge and only a tiny amount of people can buy their art and then they complain when I'm forced to use AI because I'm broke. To me it looks like people think themselves and their art are worth vastly more than what other people see it's worth as. When I have been asked to write music and the person doesnt have the money I do it anyway because I love to make my art and in the end it was never about money to begin with, so think if you go into art with the idea of making money I think your kidding yourself and AI gives people the ability to get the art they want without having to get a second mortgage. I know my views on this are not really aligned with the rest of the art community but I also don't care what they think.
