I studied computer science in university back in 1994. One of my modules is AI. At that time, it was quite crude but already, the potential benefits and harms were already well-perceived and feared. Even the prediction of Internet to be 99% pervasive to our lives were already considered. But people at that time just laughed at us and shake their heads, labeling us as geeks/nerds that are crazy.
Now the richest people in the world are geeks/nerds. Now Internet had permeated all aspects of our lives. So, will our concerns of AI back in the 90s also come true?
