This is a very “need to hold the individual accountable” fixed mindset rather than, “improve the system” mindset. And actually, its not entirely true that only the driver is ever held accountable - there are plenty of times where wide scale (and sometimes even smaller scale, individual car) problems that impact traffic safety that are actually the car manufacturers problem and the manufacturer is held accountable. AND it is actually easier and more cost effective for society to hold a large scale system accountable than it is to hire police and judicial systems to hold drivers accountable. Establishing a robot taxi system that can be scaled and held accountable FASTER than individual drivers (who can change every year as new drivers show up into the roads) these robot taxi systems will have much better long term better driving potential. AND people won’t be going to jail over repeat speeding tickets or other nonsense citations, which also would decrease the need for police to monitor roads and instead spend their time doing other more essential tasks. Being mad at robo taxis because they aren’t perfect now is a weird like “it’ll never get good” mindset when you could focus on how it can only get better and better. AND these robot taxis SHOULD absolutely be held accountable to reaching high quality driving results and actually even stricter results as time goes on. 19:48 no owning cars would be great. Between insurance cost and maintenance, (on top of dealership model car sales) it rips off the regular customer.
