When studying electronics in 1967/70 there was a Chinese student on the course. He was very interested in the, ' at that time ', fantasy world of artificial intelligence. During a disgussion with a lecturer the Chinese chap said ' if we ever get to the state where artificial intelligence learns to reproduce and improve itself, the world as we know it will end'.
