I feel like it's a problem of misaligned priorities. TPS reports don't exist because they are vital for a company to be able to function; they are mostly there to let your boss feel more important on their low-level management position, and managing a bunch of AI agents in the cloud just doesn't have that same ring to it. That's why managers were so against people working remotely from home until covid lockdowns forced their hand and it actually turned out to be more profitable for the company. And in a similar vein, a recruiter in a large company doesn't care about the company hiring the best employee possible; they don't get paid for that. They already have more applicants that they can process, so an AI that semi-randomly reduces the amount of applications that they actually have to go through is the best thing that could have happened to them. ...it probably won't last though.
