Let's just stop calling the AI generating people "artists" in terms of being a graphic/painter. They are not part of that community. I sometimes do generate some reference images for stuff, like getting images for memes for friends etc. I'm by no means "good" at using those AI modules, but even if I was, I would never call myself an artist for that. It's not being an artist, it's being a skilled cheater. It's way closer to coding/IT than actual artists. I'm not an artist by sometimes using the AI image generator, I can't really draw much and I don't have many uses that'd justify getting more skilled at it. AI is just a cheat code that I happen to use instead of learning the skill. It's always inferior to actually getting the skill, but for my random personal purposes that's enough. And people who get all huffy and puffy about being "AI artists" baffle me every time.
