I do like yang, and have for years. Talk about a real problem and suggest a real solution is good politics (obviously not great or we’d be in Yang 2, but…). The conversation has changed since 2019 and he hasn’t updated. Automating knowledge work is short hand for making something as capable as the average human and if you think that AI companies will stop there I have a bridge to sell you. We’re getting to a dangerous regime. You don’t get to build smarter than human systems and then decide how the world winds up. We need a long international pause.
