The elite have done it. AI is basically Frankenstein's monster but instead of creating life from something that was dead we are creating a life that didn't come from nature and will eventually be smarter and more powerful than humans. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's monster had empathy and felt loneliness because it used to be a human but it still harmed and killed people. I think AI will eventually destroy itself but a lot of humans and other living creatures will likely suffer and die before that happens.
