A.I., at large, is data theft. So many stealing people's work and effort without consent to be fed to an algorithm. It's disgusting and the fact that NFT bros are the biggest cheerers for it should have been a huge, huge red flag the moment it was first witnessed.
Edit: I should have fully watched the video before commenting, sorry about that. I still hold to my original comment though.
I do want to say is, wow you really are smart and have done your research. In the few months since you've made this video you were spot on about the human element and what assholes would do. With the passing of Kim Jung Gi I saw someone feed an AI his work almost immediately after his death, they had the audacity to ask for credit and... it was just a horrible, disrespectful mess.
On the higher up end of the industry, I suppose yeah yea the jobs would evolve, but I do worry about the specifics there, I could see background artists getting the axe or being made to just do busy edit work fixing up AI art and so forth and well... is that really something they want to do? On the lower end I'm already seeing people commission others a lot less, and that's a big indirect form of gatekeeping. I like to imagine for a lot of artists getting their first commission is a HUGE confidence boost and can be the turning point of doing art as just as a hobby into something they may want to try as something seriously.
I also see A.I. hurting the marketing potential for artists with fear of their works being fed to the machine. If you don't post your art online it's hard to build a following, but now there is the risk of your work, if taken, being used to fuel an algorithm that you did not consent to. And even if you somehow figured out your piece was taken, it's virtually impossible to "remove" it from the A.I. given the way they "learn".
There is also the possibility that art will be devalued as a whole in a similar way to photography. I can see a company offering to buy people's consent to use their art for their A.I. in a similar fashion to Stock Photos. For a lot of Stock Photo websites, the photo will be uploaded and if someone buys the rights to use said image, the uploader will receive some money (typically which can only be cashed out at a certain threshold). I can see a lot of younger/newer artists selling the rights to their works for peanuts.
I'm happy to hear you feel better after educating yourself and learning more about Artificial Intelligence, me on the other hand... my dread and insomnia has gotten worse the more I've read into it.
