As a pro AI guy. I got to say that I agree with of what is being said, The Picasso argument doesn't work simply because IA can not follow the exact instructions of someone. it would need an advanced model and a programing oriented to do that but the main focus is to automatically produce an image not doing it semi-automaticaly. anyway Picasso would never be able to do his art with the current AIs. but it could be the case in the future.
The AI needs regulation, simply for protecting intelectual property of people. it would affect the speed of how these AI models improve by time. and that's the reason why the CEO justify stealing art.
These AI artist are delusional people, and at the same time if an artist produce a piece that is the same as a souless work produced by an AI then your work has no art value, its just a mere illustration. if the process or the message can give its artistic value then some work produced by AI can be considered art, but it would be an special case of an artist using AI tools, not a big wave of morons calling themselves AI "artists".
