Companies start implementing AI. Some workers get laid off. Everyone starts getting worried about the AI coming for their job next. People start cutting spending. Corporate revenues start to fall because of reduced spending. Corporations begin to lay off workers. Corporations also feel the need to further automate to maintain their profitability. More jobs lost. Increasing worry about employment, spending curtailed further etc, etc, etc.
