I work in the Financial Crime area in banks. Banks could have had huge efficiency gains for the last 10 years with the adoption of large data and machine learning/pattern recognition algorithms. That tech is not complicated when compared to AI. To this day no major bank uses it effectively to reduce costs, improve detection or any other advantage. My point is, technology adoption outside of the social media megacorps is slow. IF we arrive at functional job AI it will still take a long time for companies to incorporate it. We recently had the example of Klarna implementing it for something as easy as customer support. And they already had to reverse it and hire back humans.
