I listen to the parts about Europe and now I think you don't know much about Europe really:
- I don't think US companies will be able to put their cars on our streets -> this market, as any other, will be regulated, and companies will have to prove their cars are safe. And not self-certify.
- Europe's roads in cities are designed around the building and people, not the other way round. Sometimes streets are too narrow to set them any other way and nobody cares. No one will destroy homes just to build another lane for cars
- Europe's countries have very different culture of driving and rules - for example, in Poland, cars need to stop before any crossing if there is a pedestrian standing on the sidewalk. So not even on the crossing itself. I wonder how you will design those self driving cars around this :)
