You expect governments to “regulate”? Autonomous weapons technology will never be regulated in a vacuum. China is never going to stop producing and developing them. It is a way of life and they HAVE the government control that you crave! In reality Stalin was right. Small statistics, small deaths are a tragedy. Large destruction and deaths only become statistics. China does not care for the individual. They have also been quite clear in their intentions to “regulate” the USA and Europe. I would never want politicians to think they know how to control China or AI. Manufacturing processes can have a fail safe and “capacity” limits to growth. But, it won’t be China that produces those. If you want responsible manufacturing, talk to those Associations and let them know the MONETARY cost of NOT controlling AI. That is the type of regulation that will be effective. If anyone - including governments - can go and get personal assets of CEO, CFO, etc. if an “event”…..all manufacturing will become regulated.
