It seems that AI is not compatible with the current form of capitalism. However, changing the system (eg. introducing UBI, etc) will be quite painful and will result in suffering for many. Eventually the wrinckles will iron out, but it will take a long time and the societal cost will be high. In many ways it reminds me of the transition from the communist regims to capitalism in Eastern Europe (which meant serious hardship for most of these countries). Hard times are ahead of us all, and the outcome of this societal transformation is very uncertain. My heart goes out to the young generation, left without any sense of guidance and hope. The struggle they are facing will take a toll on them for sure. We all have the moral obligation to help them as much as we can.
