It's nothing different than an old-fashioned cobbler making shoes hating the industrial revolution mass-production of goods that may drastically reduce the demand for their work because of a cheaper less quality product. My job has artist in the title, and this is all just crying that the times are changing and we need to adapt to survive. I personally love AI tools because it can significantly increase my output, and enable me to do a lot more things. I mainly do 3D stuff though and it's not there yet for AI, but can't wait for it to be so soon. Lots of people don't want to pay for 3D, so AI will mean a lot more 3D content will be made, which I enjoy. The best thing an artist can do is either plan on doing old-school artisan work for rich customers, or to use these new superpowers to make more and cooler stuff. The worst thing we can do is throw a fit and refuse to change. Nobody complains about cheaper, faster products of acceptable quality.
