Publicly available data ≠ publicly reusable data. If you are McDonalds and collect the necessary ingredients to make a burger, you still have to pay every way to get those ingredients together but you make a new product with them that can sell. Ai is stealing the ingredients and charging you for what they provided for free. If they got the information to be free it should at the very least be free to access and credit the originators if nothing else.
