I just discovered an author that goes by the pseudonym John Twelve Hawks. His books that I read aren't anything new, which makes all his writing that much more mind blowing. He mixes sci-fi with the reality of the surveillance state. He writes about facial recognition cameras and AI, the GPS in cars and phones, and digital purchases being used to track and even predict what people do.
