I think this "the AI God is coming in a little over a year and will kill us all" is nonsense from Tech Bro cultists who had their brains broken by Roscoe's Basilisk.
I've seen no evidence that LLM style AI models can ever scale up into AGI or that flaws that appear inherent to the style of program can ever be solved.
The real current threat from AI is that LLMs have very limited situations where they're actually useful economically, and that the AI industry under the leadership of a conman who pied pipered all the capital in the nation with promises of completely eliminating the labor force even when ChatGTP is in no position to do that and probably never will, and so there's a financial bubble capable of nuking the entire economy.
