I have come to truly hate the over lighting of everything found in AI art. You can tell when lighting is done deliberately and the artists put a lot of work into making it work for the scene, location, time, and mood of a piece of work. In AI the lighting is used as a crutch to blur things going on in the background to make them out of focus so you won't notice how janky they are.
