AI art is just a collage of little rips of real art, but the thing is, it's entirely based around making people happy it's value is based on how pleasing and efficient it is, art is not always meant to be pleasing OR efficient, it can be confronting and sometimes intentionally done with techniques that aren't the path of least resistance purely because the artists enjoys the process of creating, not just what they've creatED. AI art does nothing but borrow from existing and widely accepted conventions and traditions, it skewing from that is a mistake in its eyes and a fault in its algorithm because it's definition of art is only what already exists, this is important because real art while it doesn't always have to be experimental or defying its done with intention and often DOES push boundaries, blur the lines of genre, how something is "meant to look". AI art will never evolve and artform, the most it can do is solidify it where as real artists are the only ones who will actually have the ability to let it grow and move past convention. Real artists don't care about alienating their audience if it fits their message, their influences and pieces that contribute to their style can come from anywhere not just existing art, their environment, their upbringing, their culture, their pain, things they find aesthetically beautiful that isn't visual art, but most importantly to say, they have something to say or express and a message to deliver, their final image is based around that intention.
